Kostas Manassakis, owner
of The Greek Village Restaurant, was born in Galia on the island of
Crete. His family owned and operated a traditional Greek restaurant in
Agia Galini during the early 70's. After serving in the Army on the
island of Rhodes, he stayed there and gained restaurant experience
working and dancing at a taverna in Lindos. He then went on to gain
even more experience in various restaurants in such places as Crete and
London. He owned and operated the Night Club "Zorbas" in Matala, Crete,
which accomodated about 350 people.
After meeting his wife Aimilia, they got married and moved to the
United States where they both worked in various restaurants. They
opened their first drive- through restaurant, "Olympic Burgers", in
1989 in San Diego. They later opened the Greek Village Restaurant,
providing wonderful food, great service, and live entertainment, in a wonderful
traditional Greek atmosphere. They are very proud of what they do, and
feel honored to serve their guests.
So, from a small village in Crete, to the city, to travels in Europe, Kostas and Aimilia found their way to the magical land of opportunity which embraced their dreams and rewarded their hard work and integrity with success.
The Greek Village Restaurant is family owned and operated.
